Sustainability

Cutting post-harvest loss, building resilient food systems.

Our approach

Every harvest secured is waste prevented.

Across Africa, much of what's grown is lost before it reaches a market — spoiled in the gap between farm and buyer. Mashruum's infrastructure closes that gap. Better storage keeps more of every harvest in the food chain, and cleaner mobility moves it with a lighter footprint. Sustainability isn't a side programme for us — it's what the core business does.

  • Keep food in the chain

Smart storage, grading and traceability cut post-harvest loss at the midstream, where most spoilage happens.

  • Move it cleaner

EV-enabled mobility carries produce from first mile to last with lower emissions and lower cost.

  • Strengthen the system

Resilient infrastructure means steadier supply, fairer prices and stronger food security across the regions we serve.

What sustainability means here

Three ways the network protects food and the planet.

Storage, mobility and data working together — each one lowering waste and emissions across the chain.

Less waste

Storage that keeps food alive longer

Modular aggregation hubs with Smart Store inventory, grading and quality control reduce spoilage at the point where most of it happens.

Cleaner movement

Electric mobility, first mile to last

An EV-enabled fleet moves produce from farm to buyer reliably — cutting both transport emissions and cost across the network.

Smarter systems

Data that prevents loss before it starts

Operational data forecasts demand and optimises how assets are used, so less is stored too long, moved too late, or lost in between.

Our commitment

Building a lower-loss, lower-carbon food chain.

We're scaling infrastructure that does double duty — securing more of the harvest while lightening the footprint of moving it. Here's the path we're on.

  1. 2022

    Network founded

First aggregation and storage sites established in Northern Ghana.

  2. 2023

    Smart Store live

Inventory, grading and traceability deployed across sites to cut spoilage.

  3. 2025

    Electric mobility

EV-enabled transport rolled out on aggregation and last-mile routes.

  4. 2027Target

    Cleaner hubs

Solar-assisted, cold-capable storage at flagship fulfillment centers.

  5. 2030Target

    Regional network

An integrated low-emission storage-and-mobility network across West Africa.

The difference it makes

Infrastructure with measurable impact.

What the network has delivered so far — every site and every square metre keeps more food in the chain.
